The Instructor Resource Repository is a project currently underway at Penn State and housed in the University Libraries. The goal of this project is to create a central, easy-to-use hub where faculty can access instructional resources, reports, and tools in one place.
The idea grew out of key recommendations from:
- 2022 Faculty Senate Report — called for a central repository for instructional resources with consistent cataloging, governance, and communication.
- 2024 Joint Standing Committee on the Effective and Responsible Use of AI in Higher Education Instruction — recommended a central location for instructional resources on generative AI, aligned with other teaching resources.
The team working on this repository is now focused on building the framework, cataloging existing resources, and planning governance to ensure long-term sustainability. Early efforts include developing consistent tagging, setting accessibility standards, and curating high-priority resources such as open educational materials, courseware, and AI teaching guidance. Faculty feedback will be invited to shape the repository as it develops.
This page will be updated as progress continues, and new content is added. If you have questions, please contact Crystal Ramsey, Director of Teaching and Learning with Technology, University Libraries, at cmg5@psu.edu.
